The Adelaide Fringe Awards celebrate and recognise outstanding contemporary arts practice. Award winners are determined by a panel of expert industry professionals and peers. Here at the Fringe we revel in risk taking, innovation, experimentation, awesome creative collaborations, unique audience experiences, invention, artistic excellence and originality. BankSA Innovation Award
The BankSA Innovation Award is presented to the show which best demonstrates innovation, originality and excellence within their artform or in the arts in general. The award winner will receive a statuette and $2000 generously donated by BankSA.
BankSA People’s Choice Award
The BankSA People’s Choice Award can be voted for at www.TalkFringe.com.
The award winner will receive a statuette and $2000 generously donated by BankSA.
Eran Svigos Award for Best Visual Art
This award acknowledges the most outstanding Visual Arts Exhibition in the Fringe in memory of an extraordinary creative force, Eran Svigos.
The award winner will receive a statuette and $2000 generously donated by the family of Eran Svigos.
Best Presentation for Children
To recognise excellence among the vast number of family shows which register with Adelaide Fringe, we’ve introduced an award to celebrate - Best Presentation for Children. The award will be given to an outstanding presentation suitable for children aged 12 and under.
The winner will receive a statuette and $500 generously donated by BankSA.
John Chataway Digital Technology Award
In memory of John Chataway, Deputy Chairperson on the Adelaide Fringe Board who sadly passed away in October 2010, this award recognises and celebrates innovation and excellence in the use of digital technology in the arts.
The award winner will receive a statuette and $2000 donated by Adelaide Fringe.
Adelaide Festival Centre inSPACE:development Award
This award is designed to offer a local emerging artist or collective the use of a rehearsal space, either to support the creative development of a new work, and/or polishing and refining an existing work to a performance outcome. The award winner will receive a statuette and three weeks use of Rehearsal Room 2 in the Adelaide Festival Centre complex. At the end of the rehearsal period they will present a series of showings which will be included as part of the inSPACE:development program in the Adelaide Festival Centre 2012 Brochure. This award is also made possible by Osmonds Electronics.
Melbourne Fringe Award
The Melbourne Fringe Award is a fantastic opportunity for a South Australian based artist or company to take their work to the 2011 Melbourne Fringe - the leading organisation for the independent arts in Victoria.
The winner of the Melbourne Fringe Award will receive presentation assistance to the value of $2000 and free registration (valued at $330).
Peace Trust Award
The Peace Trust Award is open to all Fringe artists who promote human rights, social justice and environmental sustainability through their art. The Peace Trust has been a long supporter of the arts by providing seed funding and arts grants for projects. By being part of the Adelaide Fringe Awards, the Peace Trust is able to support art that aligns with the objectives of the Peace Trust and at the same time furthers their commitment to experimentation, excellence and innovation in the arts. Underbelly Edinburgh Award
Underbelly is one of the largest and most respected venue managers and producers at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Formed in 2000, they now programme and run 15 performance venues, ranging in size from 50 to 1000 seats, and sell 240,000 tickets to 140 shows per day during the Fringe. It’s a pure powerhouse of creativity, imagination and talent and they’re looking for the best of the Adelaide Fringe to join them in 2011.
The Underbelly Edinburgh Award will support one winning show to come to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2011.
The award will cover production / touring / promotions costs up to £7,000, offering the show a run at the largest fringe festival in the world. Underbelly will also look at future touring opportunities with the winning company in the UK.
